Editorial August 2016 [fr]
Dear French and American Friends,
This is the time that I will address you in this newsletter of the Consulate General of France in Atlanta. In fact, I will complete my four-year mission as Consul general to the U.S. Southeast in mid-August and return to France for my next position. My successor, Louis de Corail, will take over at that time.
Following the floods that struck France in June, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight a beautiful example of the French-American relationship : the French Heritage Society has begun a fundraiser to help pay for restoration of castles and other historic sites that were damaged by the floods. We are very touched by their efforts and wish them the best success in meeting their goals.
Finally, like every year, French and French-lovers around the world will celebrate the French National Holiday on July 14. To find out what are partners have organized in the U.S. Southeast, click here. The Consulate, as well, will host its annual cocktail reception for the local French community and our partners.
It has been a great pleasure to serve our French constituents here and help promote France in the U.S. Southeast. To those who I will not have the opportunity to see before my departure, I wish you the very best in your future endeavors.
