Summer University 2016 [fr]

This year’s Summer University for French teachers will offer an intensive course on the systemization of classes of French as a foreign language from June 15-17 in Atlanta.

Organized by the Cultural Services of the Consulate General of France in Atlanta, in partnership with the Alliance Française of Atlanta, this course was designed for French teachers (K – 12 and university-level) in the Southeast to help diversify their educational support and engagement techniques in their French classes.

Summer university includes:
- 3 days of intensive, 6-hour training (18 hours total)
- A total immersion training, taught entirely in French
- A training covering both course support and techniques to encourage student engagement in French courses

Summer University was started by Angela Silva, who has taught French as a foreign language since 1989, including 23 years at the Center for Culture and Cooperation – French Institute of Latin America, in Mexico. She has a degree in French education and diverse specializations in psychotherapy. The costs of the training are covered by the Cultural Services of the Consulate. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, parking, and meals.
