Considered the Olympic games of local filmmaking, 48 Hour Film Project is the world’s oldest and largest timed filmmaking competition. This year, some 50 French filmmakers will screen their films at the end of year event, Filmapalooza 2016 in Atlanta on March 2-5.
Created in 2001, 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP) is an annual timed competition pushing filmmakers to fight the clock and push their creativity and teamwork to the max. Now, over 30,000 films later, the 48 Hour Film Project has become a rite of passage for filmmakers around the world. Filmmakers compete in 130 cities around the world, on 6 continents to create a short film in 48 hours according to the genre and other instructions given. Local winners are then invited to screen their films at Filmapalooza as they compete for the international title of Best Film.
Following competitions in nine French cities, organized by Le Petit Studio, about 50 French filmmakers will attend Filmapalooza 2016 in Atlanta –Midtown. An excellent opportunity to network and promote French filmmaking, we wish these teams the best success !
